I'm very lucky

You have to be really careful who you surround yourself with. I've made mistakes over the years when it came to friendships, believe me. I've befriended so many people for the wrong reasons...to fit in, to stand out, to just have someone around me...and I'd always get screwed over in the end. I can honestly say that I have the best friends in the world now. I don't know what I did to deserve them and I don't know what I'd do without them. They make the tough times easier. They make me smile when I feel like absolute shit. Most importantly though, they love me for me and I don't have to become someone different to please them or to be accepted by them. One day we'll get that condo overlooking Montreal or Jenn will purchase the Marriot and we''ll all move in. Whatever comes first.
Endless nights out..or not..(DAHFA)
Waiting for hours for concerts...worth every second

Leaving on a jet plane...

So I'll be abandoning my computer for the next week, starting tomorrow. Instead of sitting around Montreal in the cold I'll be hopping a flight to Cuba with seven friends tomorrow afternoon. I'm beyond excited. Our resort is absolutely gorgeous and I think we could all use a week in the sun to just hang out and catch up. The best part? There are flamingos everywhere. Yeah I'm not going to lie, that's one of the things I'm most looking forward to. I overpacked...as I always do but to be fair my luggage is about as big as a regular school backpack so it could even be considered carry-on. Compare that to the people to bring 40 pound bags and I think I'm pretty good at cramming stuff into small spaces. Lets hope my shampoo doesn't explode. I'm a little bit uncomfortable with flying, especially at night, but I have seven other people to take my mind off it and after flying on 5 different planes to and from Mexico...well I think I can do it!! I hope Cuba doesn't have massive spiders...or else Agnes will be very busy in our room.

So goodbye Montreal until March 13th(flying back on a Friday. Good thing I'm not superstitious...)

Slowly but surely....

I'm pretty sure they're taking over Canada...

All Sharks All Weekend

This weekend definitely had a theme. It revolved around the fact that my second favorite team in the NHL, the San Jose Sharks, were coming into the East for a mini roadtrip against Ottawa and Montreal. On Thursday I headed down to Ottawa to meet up with Athena and head to Scotiabank Place for the Sens/Sharks game. I spend a good chunk of my free time watching the Habs from inside the Bell Center and I've said many times that I'm always in a good mood when I'm there. It's special to be in a place where people share the same passion as you and the atmosphere is always insane. I had heard negative things about Scotiabank but I didn't really understand it until I was there. It was awful. The fans weren't into the game at all. The only time it got loud was when they were booing the refs and they had a tiny Go Sens Go chant going at the very beginning of the game and that was it. The sad thing was that for the majority of the game their team was only down by 1 goal but you could hear everything that the players were saying on the ice and the crowd just didn't motivate their team. The place was dead. It really made me miss the Bell Center and appreciate our fanbase even more. Aside from that I enjoyed the game. I made some friends with random Sharks fans and my team won it in the end by a score of 2-1. Only downer was Nabby wasn't in nets but I had a great time creeping him on the bench haha.
On Friday I came back from Ottawa and then headed down to Lisas. I have also decided that I despise the STM and I could probably rant about it for hours. We had a mini original hockey girls night at her place with her beautiful 50'' television. We won the game which made the night even better and there was a lot of laughing and a lot of eating. I'm pretty sure I'm a good 15 pounds heavier now because there was so much food. Just what I needed before Cuba!! It was good to see the girls again since I leave for Cuba in a few days and then I have to come home from my vacation and take over for my boss for a week so I won't really have time to see them for a good 3 weeks.
On Saturday morning we woke up bright and early but everyone was surprisingly chipper. I think we were all so deliriously tired that we just couldn't bring ourselves to be in a bad mood. We headed down to the Bell Center in hopes that I could get my Nabokov jersey signed. I've waited almost 5 years to meet him and it looks like I'll be waiting another year atleast. The Bell Center is a very busy place on game days because there are usually atleast 40 people there waiting for autographs. The thing is, I didn't care to meet any of the Habs, I was there to get my Nabby jersey signed. That didn't happen though thanks to the psychotic EBAY crazy people who hogged him and didn't even know who he was when he went inside. I wasn't too impressed with that but I got something later that day that basically made up for all of it.
After that Laura came back to my place to be my moral support as the Habs played the Sharks. I would never root against the Habs, but it was the type of game where I'd be happy no matter who won it. Thankfully the Habs took it. I'm also so happy I didn't spend 250$ to sit behind his net for the game like I was supposed to. He didn't even play. Now I'm going to spend all of Sunday sleeping and not moving. I was so deliriously tired yesterday. It was all worth it in the end though and in 5 days I'll be lying on a beach in Cuba with everyone.
